In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Day The Mission Continues Miami Platoon will have a service project at a historical African American cemetery. This service project will consist of outdoor yard work on a grand scale as well. Water and Snacks provided. Family friendly service project with historical and educational components. Please bring appropriate yard work tools if you have (Ex: weed eaters, gloves, loopers, rakes, chainsaws, axes, etc) The Historic Lincoln Memorial Park established in the 1920s needs help to get back up to standard. The Historic African American cemetery is the final resting place for over 1,000 early Miami Dade residents. We will be working with Hands On Miami to help remove some of the overgrowth. The objective is to help clean the 25 acre historic property of litter and weeds from overtaking the site. Please let us know if you are able to join us for this amazing project and let us know if you plan to bring anyone else with you. POC for both projects is PLT member BJ 305-433-0288 if you have any questions about the project specifics.
