Event overview

In the Bronx, the Leave It Better Foundation empowers youth to heal our environment through the Leave It Better Program and through their seasonal work at the Leave It Better Kids Garden in the Bronx. Students are taught how to compost with worms and how to garden outdoors through the hands-on process of actually building worm bins, getting dirty, planting seeds, and harvesting food. The Leave It Better Kids Garden hosts weekly garden days at 1970 Grand Avenue in the Bronx. These eventful Saturdays often include activities like picking up trash, weeding, planting seeds, harvesting, composting, building leaf forts, climbing trees and much more. In order for them to better assist the community, they need The Mission Continues Bronx Platoon’s help to build a place to store their tools. On December 4th, we'll be back at the Leave it Better Kids Garden to build them a much needed shed. We hope to see you there!
