Belmont Little Farmers Garden is a community garden founded in 1975 and became a GreenThumb garden in 1987. It is used heavily by about thirty members from the surrounding neighborhood and has a total of 13 plots. The garden is in need of a covered eating area and the Bronx Platoon will be out there at 11 am on Sunday September 25 to help build it. We hope to see you there! Public transit directions: Take the B or D train to 'Fordham Road Station.' Once out of the station head north Toward E Fordham Road. At the intersection of E Fordham Road and Grand Course, hop on the Bx12 bus (heading towards Bay Plaza via Fordham Rd via Pelham Pkwy). Get off at the stop for Cambreleng Ave (about 6 stops from when you board the bus). Once off the bus, walk back one block toward Belmont Ave once on Belmont Ave make a left and walk toward 189th street (traffic should be going the same direction as you). Or You could take the Metro North train to the Fordham station. From there, walk toward Third Ave (walk against traffic or cross the street and walk with traffic to get to Third Ave). Hop on the Bx12 Bus (heading towards Bay Plaza via Fordham Rd via Pelham Pkwy). Get off at the stop for Cambreleng Ave (about 3 stops from when you board the bus).

Closed toe shoes, comfortable pants, eye protection, hat and sunscreen (if the sun decides to join us).

What to Bring

Water, umbrella, work gloves, and wood working tools that you believe might come in handy if you have some.
