This will be our first service project at Everglades National Park, we will be demolishing 5 platforms at 2 different sites. We need 30 volunteers total, 15 per site, 3 per platform. This will be a rough project due to the conditions and nature of the work. It will be demolishing large wood platforms in locations that are very close to water and have large amounts of bugs. It should only take about 3 hours to complete. Bug jackets will be provided as they are bad this time of year. Volunteers MUST wear jeans, long sleeves and closed shoes. There are NO children allowed for this project at all. Food and water will be provided. All equipment will be provided. We need about 20 more members to volunteer for this that are willing to put in about 3 hours of hard work. This is the first project for our new partnership with the national parks so we want to make sure that this is done well. Meet up will be at 8am and the plan is to work 3 hours then go have lunch outside of the Everglades and be done around 1pm. We need to know that those that sign up will attend the project for sure and are physically able to complete the work safely. Please let us know if you are able to assist with this project. We really need the support of our members for this one! Meet up will be at the Ernest Coe Visitors Center at 8am sharp! 40001 State Highway 9336 Homestead. FL 33034
