Join The Mission Continues Miami Platoon for a clean up project at Pine Rockland on Sunday March 5th at 9:00am. This service project will consist of outdoor yard work on a grand scale. Water and Snacks provided. No children allowed for this project unless given specific clearance by Platoon Leader. Please contact Edwin directly for this. The Tropical Audobon Society owns a native, globally imperiled Pine Rockland in Goulds by the Historic Cauley Square. The 8 acre habitat is unique to Miami Dade and fire dependent, and hasn't burned in over 15 years so The Mission Continues Miami Platoon and Hands On Miami will be assisting to restore the forest to its natural state by hand. PLEASE wear long sleeves, pants and closed toe shoes...as it is a living forest we will be clearing...the goal is to "open the forest" by clearing away some of the overgrowth in the Pine Rocklands. We hope to have additional service projects at this site to reach an ultimate goal of opening it up to the public. Please let us know if you are able to join us for this amazing project and let us know if you plan to bring anyone else with you. POC for this project is PLT member BJ Chizar 305-433-0288 if you have any questions about the project specifics.
