Sylvan Ave Compost Lot Prep- Operation Nourish

Come join TMC-Pittsburgh's Hazelwood as we continue with Operation Nourish by preparing the Sylvan Ave Compost Lot for future development. We will be working at the lot from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on the 24th of October. The goal with this project will be to clean out obstructions and overgrowth from the lot which will allow for future development and use. The Sylvan Ave Compost Lot will be a future site for composting and recycling of biodegradable materials to be used in gardens in Hazelwood. For this particular phase of the project we will be completing the following tasks: - Mark trees to be cut down - Throw out and or move obstructions on the site - Cut and move overgrowth and already fallen trees - Clear area for easier passage Please register ahead of time so we can make sure we have enough food and tools for everyone. Lunch will be provided. Accessibility: we will be working on uneven ground in/around the lot. This project may not be accessible to all. What To Wear

TMC blue shirt, clothes you can get dirty, close-toed shoes or boots and weather appropriate gear. Please keep in mind, it's late October in Pittsburgh and we may experience inclement weather.

Please bring your own mask/face covering and personal water bottle.
