Revitalizing Howard Playground in Brownsville: Part 3 of 3

June 22, 2019

10:00 AM - 02:00 PM EDT

New York City Platoon

Event overview

On June 22th, The Mission Continues Brooklyn Platoon is heading out to Brownsville Brooklyn once again for an impactful day of service to finish what we started last summer! We have been consistently deploying to Brownsville to build a stronger more connected community as Brownsville residents intend to change the negative narrative around Brownsville being "the worst neighborhood for children" into "Brownsville, a Community of Resilience." So far we have painted 2 full basketball courts and 3 half basketball courts in purple and white. This time, we are going to finish up revitalizing Howard Playground for children by completing the basketball court redesign that the youth council of Brooklyn Public Library created. Also, we will paint park benches and install new basketball nets. This project will be the final part of rebuilding Howard Playground. Hope to see you there!
