MLK Legacy of Service

January 12, 2019

San Antonio Platoon

Event overview

The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service is an opportunity for each of us to reflect on the principles of equality and selflessness that Dr. King embodied. Dr. King believed in celebrating and promoting the worth of every person. He championed for diverse cultures to live and thrive together in a spirit of love, understanding and service to one another. Through his example, Dr. King challenged and empowered individuals to take action and lift up their neighbors and communities by volunteering. This January 12, 2019, The Mission Continues is issuing a call to serve through our campaign. So please join as we continue serving by his example to empower the legacy we have built and the new ones we inspire. #LegacyofService. For the event, we will be returning to Woodard Park to complete tasks such as mulching and gardening in preparation for it's grand opening and celebration on January 19, 2019. There will also be a team formed to go to the Gardopia locations for lawn maintenance and harvesting and move forward on completion of outdoor kitchen.
