The Independence Heights Festival celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the first black municipality in the state of Texas. We will need volunteers for the following activities: 7:30 am- Volunteers needed to set up the stage, tents, and tables 10 am- Volunteers needed to help cook, man food stations and help distribute food 12 noon- Volunteers needed to help with festival food distribution and Art Carousel 5 pm- Volunteers needed to help clean up crew This grand event will celebrate the kick off the new North Main Street Cultural Corridor. This corridor will contribute to the fabric of Houston serving as a reflection of its diversity and historic past. We hope you can make it!
