Service Project

Southside Summer Service

July 28, 2018

08:30 AM - 12:30 PM EDT

Columbus OH Platoon

Event overview

***Update*** Most of you have already heard that Clarfield Farm will be closing their doors at their current location on Aug 2, but we will still be doing a service project there this Saturday! Instead of painting and installing a rain tarp, we will be helping harvest and start tearing down. These are important tasks as we continue to fight food insecurity in South Columbus! Join us for Southside Summer Service as we continue our support organizations fighting hunger on the Southside! All registrants will meet at the Clarfield Farm for check-in and a safety briefing, then will be split between two project sites. Regardless of the location, these projects are going to be high impact for our mission partners!! About half of the volunteers will stay at the farm to provide general field support on the farm. The remaining volunteers will report for duty at Holy Rosary St John Church for a service project with Community Kitchens, Inc and Holy Rosary Food Pantry. We will be repainting the walls and handrails in the entry way, replacing worn carpet tiles and installing stair safety treads. Address for Holy Rosary St. John will be provided at registration to avoid confusion.
