Thanks to another generous donation from Lynx, The Mission Continues - Orlando has been allotted a large quantity of unclaimed bicycles. All bikes will be refurbished by members as necessary and donated to Central FL at-risk youth and post-hurricane Maria evacuees via non-profits including The Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida (Taft, Mims, and Pine Hills branches), Zebra Coalition, which provides housing and support services for homeless LGBTQ+ youth, and others, as part of a larger program to include receiving locks, replacement parts, basic maintenance training, and leadership mentoring. We will be meeting at the Lynx HQ to load donated bicycles into our uHaul truck and then unloading them for temporary storage and quality control at my home in Winter Garden where lunch will be provided shortly after the mission is accomplished. These bikes are going to go a long way for Central FL at-risk youth and post-hurricane Maria evacuees Moving Forward but struggling with reliable transportation. A bicycle provides the means to seek new school/work opportunities, healthcare appointments, and so much more. Thank you for continuing to serve, and I look forward to seeing you soon!!
