Portland Platoon

Event overview

Please join us on Wednesday, May 23rd at Lincoln Memorial Park to assist cleaning and decorating the veteran sections of the cemetery. Lincoln Park Memorial Park is a cemetery that is over 100 years old. It existed before there were National Veteran Cemeteries available in Oregon. During it's early existence, the Board of Directors set aside several areas of Veteran placements. Later on, Willamette National Cemetery opened across the street and currently services that need. Volunteers will be asked to sweep and clean veteran markers, placing a flag at each gravesite. Also taking a moment to reflect on the name of each veteran in those sections. Afterward, a light luncheon will be provided to participating volunteers. We will need a head count by beginning of the week to be able to guarantee lunch be order for all volunteers.
