Event overview

Keep Growing Detroit is hosting a big event on May 19th and needs volunteers. They are moving their farm that day and need help moving transplants for the distribution happening at Earthworks later that day. They will also be deconstructing greenhouse tables and dividing perennials. Keep Growing Detroit (KGD) exists to promote a food sovereign city where the majority of fruits and vegetables Detroiters consume are grown by residents within the city’s limits. Their staff operates a number of established and nationally recognized programs, including the Garden Resource Program (GRP) and Grown in Detroit (GID). Keep Growing Detroit’s strategic approach to achieving their mission facilitates beginner gardeners becoming engaged community leaders and food entrepreneurs, addressing the immediate needs of the community while promoting sustainable change in our food system.
