Tough Ruck 2018 - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Former TMC Fellow, Brent Mullen, has requested the support of our Boston and Lowell Service Platoons at Tough Ruck 2018. Brent is a dental student at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine on a Health Professions Scholarship where he will be serving on active duty as a dentist in the Army once he graduates. Tufts University School of Dental Medicine has put together a team for Tough Ruck 2018 to raise awareness for a dental project called Service With A Smile. This project will provide oral cancer screenings and teach oral health promotion to veterans residing at the New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV). NECHV currently houses around 250 veterans in transition in life but currently only have access to emergency dental care. Come out and volunteer with us at Tough Ruck 2018. They need volunteers to help with handing out water and food, directing parking, and various duties at the finish line such as handing out medals and drinks. We will have a couple of volunteer timeblocks, and when you sign-up please be sure to indicate which slot you can attend: - 7AM-11AM - 11AM-3PM Dora Piedra from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine will be our team volunteer coordinator.
