#HerMission Women's Service Project- Literacy Classroom Upgrade

March 24, 2018

10:00 AM - 04:00 PM EDT

Pittsburgh Platoon

Event overview

Last year, in Pittsburgh, we piloted a #HerMission, women's service project. We had over 50 women come out and unite in service together. Following that project, four of the female veterans who attended were inspired to apply and serve as Fellows with The Mission Continues; the first female fellows we have had to date in Pittsburgh! Another one of last year's attendees has recently become Pittsburgh’s first female Platoon Leader! With such great success stories of empowerment coming out of last year's project, we have decided to go for round two! This time, our sister city platoons throughout the Northeast region will also be coming together on March 24th and hosting #HerMission projects of their own! Join us in transforming classroom and office space in the South Hills, in support of the refugee support programming offered by Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council and South Hills Interfaith Movement. This will be a child friendly event and open to all abilities.
