The Mission Continues Newark will be partnering with the City of Newark, the Newark Youth Ambassadors and possibly others to do a "Hugs and Mugs" event for homeless Newarkers. We will go to a shelter located at 224-238 Sussex Avenue, to distribute care packages, hot chocolate, donuts, and start conversations. The packages will have materials for cold weather (medical supplies, socks, chap stick, band aids, etc.) and materials produced relating to cold weather preparedness. This high impact project will gives us a chance to provide comfort and crucial information to Newark's most vulnerable in these cold days. The shelter will also have projects in the coming months, like room painting and bed assembly so stay tuned after we complete Phase 1.
