Event overview

Come join us as we build and install Little Free Pantries and Little Free Libraries in Hazelwood! A Little Free Pantry is a box stocked with nonperishable food items, hygiene products and household items for neighbors who need them. The Hazelwood Little Free Pantry Project provides the opportunity to help build a sense of community while providing for those in need. A Little Free Library is a box stocked with books, for children and teens, that aims to inspire a love of reading, build community, and spark creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges. This project is very collaborative in nature, and we expect a large group of residents to turn out to support this event. It will be a great opportunity for us to engage with many of the people who live and work in the community. The project is being planned in collaboration with a local Eagle Scout, Christian Polk, who is designing the boxes, fundraising for the project supplies, and will be taking an active leadership role at the event. We are also partnering with a local Girl Scout Troop, Fishes and Loaves Cooperative, Propel Hazelwood and Reading Is Fundamental - who will be on site during the project with their Storymobile!
