East Capitol Urban Farm is one of the University of DC's College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences' food hub sites that is instrumental in connecting the Ward 7 community, which is classified as a food desert, to sustainable, healthy foods. Our efforts on Earth Day will prepare ECUF to operationally host more events for local youth, the community, and education leaders. We have several build projects and area beautification projects meant to improve the usability and overall atmosphere of the site. In addition, UDC CAUSES has presented an opportunity for volunteers who are willing to go the extra mile to become certified in green infrastructure! Reach out to the event POC for more details.
