Event overview

The Mission Continues makes an impact in the community in a variety of ways. One ways we engage is by partnering with our community leaders and service providers to support their projects and make their events and outreach successful. This event will only take a 3.5 hour commitment per shift, but it will make a world of difference to those children we are there to serve. I hope to see you there! One of the highlights of childhood is Trick-Or-Treating – getting dressed up in a costume and going door to door, stuffing your bag as full as humanly possible with candy! However, for children living in motels, trick-or-treating can be a disappointing or even dangerous event. Most families living in motels cannot afford costumes or candy and child safety is a concern, when you do not know who is going to answer the door… One solution is Grandma’s House of Hope’s 7th Annual “Safe Harvest” Event hosted on Halloween for children living in our local Anaheim motels. The West Anaheim Youth Center is once again partnering with us and generously donating their facility for this event to be held on October 31st, from 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm. Last year this event drew over 1,400 kids! Date: Tuesday, October 31st Time: 3:00 PM - 9:30 PM Location: The Anaheim Youth Center 320 S Beach Blvd. Anaheim, CA 92804 Volunteer Needs: Grill Masters- 4-5 Volunteers (two shifts- 3:00-6:30 and 6:00-9:30) We need volunteers who are willing to cook 1,500 hot dogs for the children and families coming to Safe Harvest. A 5 foot long Charcoal or Propane Grill will be provided to cook on. First shift will help set up, and second shift will help with break down. Parking Attendants/Crowd Management/Game Volunteers- 10 Volunteers per shift (two shifts-3:00-6:30 and 6:00-9:30) Help keep everyone at the event safe! We need volunteers who are willing to help us manage the crowds and parking lots. Specific areas will be designated on day of. This event is for such a great cause and would be such a wonderful way to give back to our Orange County Community!
