Dedicated to ending homelessness among veterans, Vets on the Rise has served over 700 veterans and their families since 2010 by empowering veterans with the tools and counseling they need to help themselves regain their dignity and find balance in their lives. Vets on the Rise is creating a space for veterans in need to come together with the Deanwood community via a small garden. DC 5th platoon has agreed to lend a hand as they transform this unassuming property into an inviting space for growth and bonding. For this project, we'll begin by putting together raised garden spaces and clearing a space for evening outdoor yoga classes. This is not a massive project day and it shouln't take a massive amount of time or resources, but your efforts are sure to have a strong impact on the community served. Do not throw away your shot to be there at the beginning. Come get some.
