Hampton Roads MLK Day

January 17, 2026

09:00 AM - 01:00 PM EST

Hampton Roads Platoon

Event overview

Ready to serve where it matters most? Join us for an impactful and energizing Service Project at the Wesley Community Service Center with the Hampton Roads Platoon on January 17th! Come experience the power of teamwork, camaraderie, and purpose as veterans and community members unite to make a real difference.

Whether you’re a veteran or a first-time volunteer, this project offers a meaningful opportunity to connect, grow, and gain a fresh perspective on service. Together, we’ll roll up our sleeves to clean and prep indoor classrooms, creating welcoming spaces that will directly benefit the community.

This service day is part of a months-long transformation effort aimed at expanding resources, strengthening community ties, and supporting more families in need. Answer the call to serve at home, stand shoulder to shoulder with others who care, and be part of something bigger than yourself.

Report for duty in your community—and help build a brighter future, one classroom at a time.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
