New York City Platoon

Event overview

Hey TMC NYC, I hope your keeping Cool in this Sweltering Heat 🥵 coming up this Summer ⛱️🌞. We're back at it with Brook Park.
Brook Park is especially appreciative of the work we've done the past 2 Support Projects. Tasks Accomplished with the Wire Mesh Fencing, Reorganization of their Storage Shed, Planting of Vegetables 🍅🍆🥒🌶️ and String Trellis installation in their 8 Newly Built Garden Beds.
They're in need of assistance to install 3 Drip💧Irrigation Systems throughout the Park & Garden. We're Collaborating with Community Partner, New York Restoration Project, as they'll lead us in the first install. TMC NYC will install the remaining 2 Systems in Place. Ultimately, this will assist the Park & Garden in watering 💦 there Vegetable Plants. This would alleviate the need for daily visits of staff, members & volunteers. This will directly Benefit the Community in the Food Garden Growing Fresh Produce to Harvest.
No formal skills required, just a willingness to use your hands and building things. Those Interested in this Project coming into their Food Gardens or Farms should attend.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
