The Mission Continues Service Projects Program is taking on a new look in 2012, but remains focused on the same mission that has provided the foundation for our Service Projects Program since 2007. Mission Continues Service Projects challenge veterans of all eras and civilians of all ages to serve side-by-side in their communities.
Our emphasis on bringing veteran, active duty military and military family members and civilian volunteers together has united thousands of Americans in service in hundreds of communities, showing that our veterans are civic assets and that together we can all build stronger communities.
As a capstone to their fellowship experience, each Mission Continues Fellow is responsible for planning and executing a service project in his or her community. The service project provides Fellows the opportunity to utilize their leadership skills and implement the lessons learned from their fellowship while addressing a critical need in their community.

Interested in Serving Alongside a Fellow?
The best way to thank a veteran is to serve alongside them. Fellow service projects will take place across the nation around Memorial Day weekend. Volunteers of all ages and skill sets are welcome.
Check back in spring 2012 for more information on how to volunteer in your community. If you are interested in organizing a service project with a Fellow in your city, please email serviceprojects@missioncontinues.org.
What are the Goals of a Mission Continues Service Project?
Each Mission Continues Service Project has two primary goals:
- Veteran volunteers are recognized as assets in their community and are instilled with a renewed desire to continue leading and serving with other veterans and civilians.
- Civilian volunteers attain a greater understanding and appreciation for veterans in their community.
