Celebration of Service

Veterans Day marked the end of the 60-day Celebration of Service Campaign, joining Team Depot and Mission Continues volunteers in service together at nearly 200 projects nationwide.

The partnership between The Home Depot Foundation and The Mission Continues was directly aimed at improving homes, facilities and community centers where veterans live and receive services. Together, we partnered with a diverse group of national organizations including The American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Rebuilding Together, to carry out our service projects and make an impact on our communities.

In St. Louis, more than 400 volunteers from The Mission Continues, Home Depot Foundation, Rebuilding Together, and Scott Air Force Base converted a North City convent into a new veterans’ facility.

In Houston, over 350 volunteers completely transformed the American Legion Post #416 that serves more than 400 veteran members.

In Chicago, 200 veterans, Team Depot volunteers and city residents helped to renovate the four-acre Veterans Memorial Maywood Park.

The Home Depot Foundation pledged $1.05 million to The Mission Continues for the Celebration of Service campaign. The grant was part of $30 million initiative by The Home Depot Foundation focused on repairing and renovating homes for military families.
